Overwhelmed with the big start… nutrition?

I am at my heaviest weight. I’ve never been “thin”, but I have never been this heavy. I was down to my lowest of about 220lb after a successful endometriosis excision surgery that seemed to fix a TON of hormonal issues alongside chronic pain, but a recurrence of the endo and new meds lead to my weight slowly creeping up. And it’s hovered at that since 2024.

I’m now 6 months postpartum, and about 265lb at 6 feet tall. I gain muscle pretty easily, but have struggled with PCOS insulin resistance since I was a teen. Currently my bloodwork is normal with zero meds, so that’s great, but also baffling because I don’t FEEL great.

I do a decent amount of moving day-to-day just with the baby and keeping house, and I’ve been doing a lot of yard work when weather allows. Also lots of indoor mall walking… but I am still struggling with the nutrition side.

I know most weight loss begins in the kitchen, and this is where I get stuck. I am a SAHM, and I am finally hitting a point where cooking and such is more doable as baby is getting more independent (or at least is content being solo on a playmat for 20 minutes). We rotate easy meals a lot, but growing up in the south and in poverty 85% of those are quite unhealthy. We are not struggling financially so if I truly meal plan we can afford healthier things, but we DO also need convenience foods sometimes.

Where do you guys find your recipes? Whats an easy trick to track macros and stuff when your brain is still goop from postpartum and you’re strapped for attention? How do you meal plan for 2 adults easily? Meal prep for the week easily?? Freezer meals that are healthy that I can prep and freeze ahead of time? Simple swaps for things to cut calories but not drastic elimination dieting?

Literally any advice or starting point is amazing and I am so grateful for it. I am tired of not feeling good in my body and knowing I am out of shape. I’m trying to tackle some of the nutrition stuff first, and just focus on more movement overall for now.
