I've gained a lot of weight over the last few years and I've just gotten seriously back into fitness. It's only been a month and I'm finding my weight loss excruciatingly slow. My trainer has me on 1800 cals and 150g protein a day and a pretty intense mix of strength training and strength based cardio 3 times a week (on top of this I do usually run, hike and get 10,000 daily steps). Getting fitness and strength back is really important to me and I know this is the healthy approach, but I'm from the "1200 calories a day" era and I'm struggling to be patient (I'm 5ft 4 female and weigh14.5 stone for reference). I would love to hear from people (preferably over 40 years old!) who have taken a similar approach and been successful with slow, sustainable weight loss while building strength to keep me motivated!
