I have PCOS and suddenly gained a ton of weight a couple years ago. I have been struggling a lot with this since I used to have very restrictive eating habits and would obsess over calorie counting to the point of disordered eating. Currently I weigh 82 kgs (height; 164 cm) and I am wanting to slim down (ideally want to get down to 65 kgs).
In November I started going to the gym after building up a lot of courage (I have always struggled with anxiety and the gym was one of the scariest places to me). I do enjoy going and usually aim to go 3 times a week. Currently I focus on a leg day, a push day, and a pull day. Each gym session is followed up with a 30 min stroll on the treadmill to try and get my steps up since I am a lab worker so I am a bit sedentary.
I do struggle a lot with planning out meals etc, especially after having a history of obsessing over calorie counting and heavily restricting what I would eat. As soon as I try to go back to calorie counting, I find myself falling back into bad habits.
I have also been struggling a lot since I have Pollen-Food Allergy Syndrome, so the usual advice of ‘eat fresh fruits and salads’ absolutely does not work for me. I did try to get advice from a nutritionist but they decided that they did not want to work with me due to having complex food issues (very unhelpful and unprofessional of them tbh).
The combination of PCOS and Pollen-Food Allergy Syndrome just makes it all feel so impossible. Just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar position and has had any success with this combination of issues and weight loss? Any advice or gym routine or meal/snack recommendations would be super helpful! Thanks!
