Body fat

Over the last six months, I've taken up sports and I've relaxed my calorie counting to properly fuel for my sports.

I'm now back up to 69kg (nice, but also not ideal). My measurements have changed a bit, but also not a lot (I've gained roughly 3cm in my waist and bust, but especially in my arms).

My body fat estimate based on my measurements is 21%, which I know isn't right because when I google photos of people with that bf%, I'm a lot more jiggly.

I've also recently started back up in the gym, this time with a personal trainer, and we began by doing a BIA. This gave me a bf estimate of 30%, which seems on the higher side when I compare to photos.

However, the BIA also indicated my muscle mass was really decent, which is in line with most of my 1 rep maxes on my exercises (*cries in weak triceps*).

Of course the correct answer would be that my true bf% is somewhere in the middle at ~26, which would be roughly in line with photos.

I am also aware that my BIA measurement currently is only one data point. I was dressed, fed, watered and warm.

But even so, it feels like there is a very stark difference between these measurements.

Someone please help shed light on this?
