I'm 34yo male, 184cm tall and 90kg. I can hardly do 500m distance at 7min/km and I'm trying to walk and "run" 3km a day, mostly just walk at 5km/h. I was able to run those 500m at 7min/km 3 times a day but it has gotten worse and the reason is that my shins simply hurt during the exercise, but not afterwards. I got myself proper running shoes advised to me by the salesperson who runs herself and she looked at my gait. My friend who started at roughly the same weight and height was able to start from 7min/km for 3.4km in one go, which to me seems simply impossible. Am I doing something wrong? While for him the performance has improved, for me it seems to have only dropped and I was never able to run even 1km at that speed. I don't know anyone else running around me, so I don't know if this is normal or what I'm doing wrong and I'd love to get some advice.
