Hi everyone, I’m feeling pretty frustrated and could use some advice. I’ve been on a consistent fat-loss journey for the last 25 days, but the scale is barely moving—I’ve only lost 0.7kg (from 95.4kg to 94.7kg).
I’m a 17-year-old male, 183cm tall, currently weighing around 94-95kg. My goal is to hit 87kg by July 10th. I’ve been very disciplined: I eat between 2,000 to 2,400 calories a day and I weigh every single gram of food on a kitchen scale—I don’t estimate anything. On top of that, I train with weights 4 times a week (Upper/Lower split) and consistently hit between 10,000 to 13,000 steps every single day. I also make sure to drink plenty of water.
According to every TDEE calculator I’ve checked, my maintenance should be at least 3,000 calories. This means that at 2,200 calories, I should be seeing a much faster drop than 0.7kg in nearly a month. I’m starting to wonder if I’m doing something wrong. Could this be massive water retention from the high activity level, or perhaps body recomposition since I’m training hard? Should I consider dropping my calories even lower, or just stay the course?
I’d love to hear from anyone who has experienced a similar plateau early on. Thanks for the help!
