I'm a male, 185 cm tall and currently around 85–87 kg, with an overall average build. I'm not overweight, but I have noticeable fat distribution in my lower body — especially in my thighs and glutes.
My upper body is relatively lean, while my lower body appears wider and less defined. It's not extreme, but enough to make me feel uncomfortable when wearing pants, particularly lighter or slightly fitted ones.
I think this might be a case of lower body fat dominance or "skinny fat" in the lower body, with some fat accumulation and lack of muscle tone.
For context:
I do some running, but not consistently.
I occasionally try to diet by reducing bread, sugar, and sugary drinks, but I’m not following a strict plan.
Has anyone experienced something similar, where fat tends to store more in the thighs and glutes instead of the abdomen?
If so:
Did fat loss alone fix the issue?
What kind of routine or habits worked best for you?
I'm not aiming for a muscular physique — just a more balanced and normal look in clothes.
