I need to get some kind of insight as to what is happening with my rate of loss. No TDEE calculator can see to replicate my real world rate of loss based on the data that I’m entering.
For context I’m 36, male, 174 cm, CW 144lb (SW 188lb in July 2025).
I started my weight loss journey and was very successful with losing. I hit my goal weight then have entered a reverse diet to find maintenance adding 200-250 calories every two weeks. My reverse started at 1800 calories then went 2000 > 2200 > 2450 > 2650 and now just completed my first week of two at 2850.
All while “training” 4x per week and walking on average 15k steps a day. I use inverted commas for training because I simply follow along to apple fitness+ workouts doing 4x 30 minute strength workouts each finished off with a 10 minute core workout (I just follow Kyle’s workouts and have been focusing on increasing my weights). I do these workouts at home with a mat and adjustable dumbbells. I do not attend the gym.
I’ve focused on my macros; hitting all 3 with quite a high degree of accuracy. 45% carbs / 30% protein / 25% fats. I am so dialled in to tracking my calories meticulously before anyone suggests I must be under counting calories…honestly…there is no way, I am happy to share my food log over the past 6 weeks if needs be!! If anything I under track calories as I don’t track veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts, lettuce etc but I do track fruits.
Here is what I cannot fathom…I’ve continued to lose weight at a rate of around 1 lb a week even as my calories have increased. I would not in any world say I’m below 15% body fat (though I don’t know for sure). This implies that my TDEE (maintenance) would be placed around 3330 calories a day!! This cannot be correct!
There is no TDEE calculator that can replicate what I’m witnessing in real time. The closest I can get to seeing my real world 3330 calories estimation is by putting in the highest activity multiplier and my body fat at 2%. Can someone please help me understand? Copilot just tells me all TDEE calculators are wrong!
If anyone needs any further info to help better understand then just ask me.
TLDR: losing weight at a rate of 1.0 lb a week at 2850 calories making my TDEE at an unfathomable 3330 calories.
