I keep losing weight and gaining it back… stuck in a cycle I can’t break

Hi everyone, I really need some advice or even just perspective because I feel like I’ve been going in circles for the past two years.

I started at around 117kg. I didn’t lose it all in one go it’s been up and down the whole time. I got down to around 98kg in spring 2025, then gained some back, then lost again and hit 97kg last December. Since then, I’ve gained again and now I’m at 105kg.

So it’s not like a straight journey, it’s literally a cycle. Lose weight → gain some back → lose again → gain again. Over and over.

Every time I get stuck wondering what I’m doing wrong. It’s like I reach a certain point and then I just can’t go any further. I start slipping, and before I know it, I’m backtracking again.

What confuses me is that I’m not starving myself or doing anything extreme. I’ve cut out junk food, but not to the point where it feels unbearable or super restrictive. I feel like I’m being reasonable, which makes it even more frustrating that I can’t seem to maintain the progress.

What messes with me the most is this: why was I able to do it before, but I can’t seem to repeat it consistently? It feels like I’ve proven I can lose the weight, but I just can’t seem to keep it off or push past that same point.

Mentally, it’s exhausting. I feel like I can’t trust myself anymore because I keep backsliding into the same pattern.

Any advice or personal experiences would really help.
