Hello,
I know this may not seem like a lot, but it’s something I’ve struggled with for the past few years.
Post-COVID, my life took a downturn — with my job, mental health, and everything else. I’m a junior doctor who stepped away from medicine due to PTSD, depression after witnessing so many deaths during my job at a covid hospital as physician and it took me almost 4 years to find my way back.
During medical school, I was very fit. Unfortunately, over the last few years, because of exams and life in general, I gained around 20 kg.
Last November, I finally pulled myself together, started working out, and improved my eating habits. After 4–5 years, this is the first time I’ve been consistent with my health, which means a lot to me — even though I still have a long way to go.
I’m currently taking a sabbatical to prepare for exams, so I have more time to focus on myself. I would really appreciate any advice.
One thing that sometimes brings me down is that I’ve only lost a few kilos in 4 months, while I see people on social media losing weight so quickly. I know I shouldn’t compare, but it’s hard not to sometimes.
