Rapid weight loss after months of dieting

So I’ve been on a weight loss journey for months now, and I wanted to share something a bit strange that’s been happening and see if anyone else has experienced anything similar.

For most of this time, I was losing weight really slowly. I’m talking like 0.1kg (about 0.2lbs) per week. It was kind of discouraging at times because I was sticking to my diet pretty consistently and tracking my calories, but the scale barely budged. I kept at it because I told myself that slow progress is still progress, but honestly, it was hard to stay motivated.

But here’s the weird part: in the last few weeks, my weight loss has suddenly sped up a lot! Now I’m losing around 1kg (about 2.2lbs) per week, even though my eating habits and calorie intake haven’t changed much at all. I haven’t started exercising more or changed anything major in my routine. It’s almost like my body just “clicked” into fat-burning mode all of a sudden.

I’m trying to figure out why this might be happening. Is it possible my metabolism finally adjusted, or maybe my body was holding onto water weight before and is just now letting go of it? I’ve read a little about the “whoosh effect,” but I’m not really sure if that’s what’s happening here. I’ve also been wondering if maybe I was underestimating my food before and am being more accurate now, but as far as I can tell, nothing has really changed.

Has anyone else gone through something like this? Did your weight loss stall for a long time and then suddenly speed up, even though you didn’t change anything? I’d love to hear your experiences or any ideas about what might be going on. Thanks!
