Questions about weight loss

I am a 22-year-old M college student who is 5'8" and currently weighs 415lbs. I'm doing a mixture of eating at the dining hall (I had to get a meal plan, + money is tight) and cooking at my dorm. I want to lose weight, but am unsure what dietary changes I should be making(maybe recommend me a meal plan?), and what exercise changes I should make( I don't go to the gym atm). I am also curious how long it's going to take to get to a healthy weight( 6 months? 1 year? 2 years? 5 years?). Any other recommendations would be welcome as well.
