I started losing weight about 7 months ago- i am male, 5ft 10 and started at 215lbs
I lost weight initially through calorie control only, but later added weights and running- i have gotten into running in particular and have got my 10km time down to an hour which i am pleased about for a bloke in his 50s
A couple of weeks ago i hit 12st 2lbs (170lbs) and decided to stop there - i carefully increased my cals from 1750 to 2000 thinking i might have to increase even more given my activity levels are quite high (gym 5 times a week)
To my surprise i have gained weight consistently. I jumped to 173lbs the first week which i put down to glycogen gain, but then jumped to 174lbs the next week
I measure my food so i think my calories are accurate - my only conclusion is that my base calorie requirement is now well below 2000?
Has anyone else had this when trying to find maintenance?
