How can I get started on weight loss?

I understand the eat less move more part, but in this economy? I can't really afford fresh produce or meats. I'm trying to lose 117 pounds, I'm currently 277 pounds trying to get down to 160 (according to my doctor this is where I should be for my frame) I don't currently have insurance so I can't see a nutritionist, I make 15 dollars an hour (I do caregiver work overnights). I just can't seem to get started! In high school I was 270 and lost 60 pounds in 4-5 months (I was consuming 250 cals a day and lifting weights at school, ik ik, that's not a good thing) but I want to do it the right way, if I'm being completely honest I want to lose weight so my body can be a little more compatible with pregnancy. Please someone give me some good motivation strategies to start doing something that won't cost me a boat load of money, I feel like giving up...
