I (33F) started gym 4 times a week, 9 weeks ago. For two years before that, with my regular lifestyle, I was able to maintain my weight at 66.6kgs (147 lbs). Since I started the gym, the only real difference in my diet has been protein shakes (on the day of workout) that have: Scoop of protein powder, one banana, and 1 tsp of peanut butter. In 9 weeks, instead of losing weight, I have gained 1.5 kgs (3.3 lbs). I am quite shocked to see this graph of increase and at loss for how this is the outcome. And I do understand that I need to be in deficit but I thought the extra calories burnt from strength training would offset this protein shake. Turns out it was easier to maintain weight with my lifestyle that what has happened in these 9 weeks.
I earlier thought I had water weight but all information I am finding says it goes away in 2-4 weeks, that it is an "early few weeks" problem.
Am I mistaken in my analysis?
