dealing w food noise

hello all! i am back on my fitness journey and have been sticking to a consistent three day a week weight lifting schedule with 10k steps daily.

i last tried back in march-ish and weighed 280 and now im at 250. my fitness journey only lasted about a month bc my partner had surgery and then all habits were lost and so now we’re back on it. i unintentionally lost weight bc during the summer i was unemployed and walking everywhere bc we don’t have a car.

now that im back on the grind, and i have a new job starting next week, the food noise is back and i really want to curb stomp the hell out of it bc it’s exhausting living like this.

i’ve seen a lot of people recommend intermittent fasting and i was lowkey doing that during the summer but that’s because id sleep in until 3, eat one meal and then go out to swim and do stuff lol but i felt groggy, gross, and not good. I admire people like shebulk on tiktok and also patty. i want to be strong, i want to build muscle and know that im laying the foundations for a good body for when im older. looking good is part of it as id love to be anything but fat and obsess but health is the main motivating factor and i was to start habits that’ll last and that’ll keep me healthy in old age so please dont reffoment me intermittent fasting because i want to be muscular and i know i have to eat to do that.

my current calorie deficit is 1850 on the sedentary level as i’ve only been working out like 2 weeks and i don’t think that counts yet. i know that number is decent but all i can think about is how many meals that’ll fit, what i can’t i eat and i get really obsessed with just thinking about eating and convincing myself im starved even if i just ate. i would like this noise to quiet down and to learn coping mechanisms to navigate this.

with all this being said, does anyone have any way of muting food noise but also actually dealing with food noise that doesn’t involve me fasting? thanks!
