What gadget, tool or app contributed the most to your weight loss journey?

Fitness trackers, apps, smart scales - I'm interested in anything that you found helpful or motivational in the long term!

As for me, I really liked the weight graph in the old version of the Fitbit app. It was applying statistical smoothing in a really clever way that was neither over- nor underdoing it. If you were heavier on a given day, it was really easy to see that the overall trend was still downward - unless it wasn't. I recently got a Garmin, but it's very early days and I'm still figuring it out, so too early to say anything. I also own a Tanita body analyzer scale, but the body fat % measurement is very inconsistent, so I just use it to track my weight (for that, it gives extremely consistent readings). By "consistent" I mean that if I step off the platform and I step back on like 10 seconds later without doing anything in between, it gives the same or an extremely similar reading.

What helped you? What do you consider to have been an extremely good purchase for you? It can be an app, a gadget with all sorts of bells and whistles, even having a professional scan/measurement/analysis of some sort... Many thanks in advance for any replies!
