Howdy, I'm 21M, 5'8", and 281lb. I just started tracking my calories a week ago. Initially I had my target range at 1800-2000 calories but part of me feels like thats a little on the high side for substantial weight loss. As of today I lowered it to 1600-1800 but I'm scared I won't be able to sustain it.
My activity level is moderate, I've been either walking 5km each day or doing incline walking for 30+min on a treadmill and some weights every day. Every calorie deficit calculator I can find puts me somewhere around 2500-3000 for my maintenence. I also put the minimum activity level in on those calculators to find my absolute baseline. Do those numbers have any merit to them? I want to keep up a 500-700 Calorie defecit, and if these calculators are accurate at all, my previous range of 1800-2000 should probably still be okay?
