How did you maintain your weight loss long term?

I've lost and gain the same 5kg over the past 5 years and I would love to lose it and keep it off forever.

Whenever I see weight loss results, I get worried I'm going to gain it back so I struggle to properly enjoy my weight loss results.

Does anyone have advice on how to keep the weight off without the struggle/dieting?

I never go on anything too restrictive, I think it's more of a psychological thing where when I get to my heavier weight, my brain tells me to stop eating too much and I wish my brain who do this at a lower weight.

Ideally, I would like to lose 8kg and maintain that forever.

So anyone who's lost weight and kept it off 5, 10, 20 years, what did you do to make your newer weight your "new normal"?
