Hello, after trying out a bunch of apps related to fitness and nutrition tracking, I wanted to share my favorite "golden" finds, I hope it can help some be a bit more motivated and in control of their weight loss with those (it did with me !)
- Nutrition tracking: Cronometer
Cronomoter has multiple big advantages for me:
- Web app (so you can switch between your phone and a computer, very handy)
- Free version allowing tracking of micro / macro nutriments and scanning food (MyFitnessPal doesn't)
- Nice UI
- Large food collection
- Sync compatability with Health Apps (Garmin, Apple, etc...) for burned calories and weight tracking
The best paid alternative would be MacroFactor in my opnion The paid subscription to Cronometer doesn't offer much
- Gym / workout app: Hevy
Hevy has very similar advanatges to cronometer:
- Web app (which streamline with cronometer quite well)
- Free version largely enough (paid version only offers additional optional stats)
- Nice UI
- Large exercice collection
- RPE tracking
- Different kinds of sets (warmups, failure, dropset...)
- Plate adjencement calculator for barbells
An alternative would be the app Strong, which is very similar to Hevy but doesnt have a web app and is not as active as Hevy on the developer side
For cardio apps i would recommend a sportwatch with its associated app (for example Garmin but Apple seems to do good too).
Of course, you don't have to install and use those apps to have a successful weight loss, but it can help !
If you have any suggestions its welcomed :)
