Advice for staying driven

Over the summer, I did an incredible job beginning my journey. Around mid July, I started counting calories when I was a little under 320 lbs. fast forward to around last month, I was nearing 285. For the past month, I’ve been in the 282-286 range. Unfortunately, this isn’t too surprising for me. I’ve stopped rigorously counting calories and let more things slide. I don’t want to blame my own laziness/lack of effort on an outside force, but eating school food and getting busier makes it hard to be as diligent.

Here’s what I’m asking: what has helped you stay on task and attentive? I know the easy answer is “just start counting again and feel the same passion you felt before!” Which is solid advice, but I want to truly stick to my goal (180 lbs) and would appreciate more specific tips for motivation.

I’ve lost around 40 lbs, and I just need some advice/motivation to push through and not become a failure story
