When you meet someone online, no amount of words can prepare the other person for what you really look like. I was already losing weight before I met someone recently, and while I did show him unedited photos of my face and full body, it's just not the same as seeing it on video. You can't see all the unflattering angles in a few pictures.
He's been supportive and suggested some ideas on how to boost my metabolism, and advised me not to starve myself, and to try including gelatin in my diet for joint relief. And he's been sympathetic to how a person could get to this point, citing the complexities and side effects of the modern American diet.
The insecurity is still there. He knows I weigh more than him, but he doesn't know it's by 50 lbs. The reason why I haven't just outright said it is because I don't want to leave it to his imagination. I would rather he see what I look like. I still intend to wear a little concealer, tinted lip gloss, and some eyeliner. I'm going to curl my hair and iron my best outfit, then we'll see if it makes a difference. The least I can do is try to look nice.
