Hi all,
I have lost some weight, around 20lbs in the last 2 years. I feel more confident in my skin now, and maybe a tad healthier too. People also compliment me on that which is all fine and dandy.
But sometimes people will make comments like "omg you used to be so faaat, and you'd look so * dumpy/similar words * then, it's so great that you lost weight". And it makes me feel so bad, because of the fatphobia(not towards me now, but the younger me and other fat people in general too) and also it makes me scared about dropping the ball and going to my pre-weight loss state. I also feel like maybe I lost weight for the wrong reasons, but overall comments like this make me feel like shit and not good. I know some part of this is also internalised fatphobia - How do yall deal with these comments? What can I think/reply which might make things better? Any help is appreciated.
