Why do veggies make me hungrier?

I could eat a very small bit of bread or bread and meat or pasta (and i mean like, a weighed portion), or cheese, or an unsweetened yogurt and berries, or... I could go on and on.

But the MINUTE I throw in veg in the mix aside from like, tomatoes/salsa, boom - i'm starving. Stir fry? Hungry. Plenty of protein, potatoes, and broccoli? Wow, still hungry. Same portions of protein and potatoes, with no veg - I'm fine. Add some mushrooms or spinach and it's like I'm a bottomless pit no matter how much of it I eat.

WHY?! Why do greens awaken some hunger beastie in me that is normally chill, when greens are what I need to eat? Is my gut flora panicking at this influx of green s**T, or ecstatically begging for more?

Seriously what is up with the produce-based hunger?
