Through consistently adhering to a high protein calorie deficit I’ve lost 50lbs in less than 5 months, and for the first time in my adult life I’m merely overweight rather than obese. SW 233 CW 182 GW 156 5’6 female- it means that I’ve noticed a lot of weird things that I hadn’t expected!
-
Body dysmorphia is real, often I look in the mirror and feel like I’ve barely lost anything. Photos from the beginning of my journey help. As does being constantly surprised when clothes I think will be far too small for me fit!
-
It hadn’t occurred to me that I would start to see my collar bones, or feel my hip bones and ribs. Nothing is sticking out, I’m still overweight, just everything used to be very rounded.
-
I no longer need to brace on my knee when getting up from the floor. Walking is easier, moving is overall easier, I knew logically this would happen but the difference is still shocking.
-
I’ve looked different to what I thought I would at every weight. I look very different to the last time I was this weight- which was well over 10 years and a baby ago. People also carry weight very differently. I can share clothes with my mother now but I weigh 20lbs more.
-
My boobs and butt left the building real quick, I’m working on building muscle but it shocked me how I just woke up one day with a flat ass.
-
I sleep significantly better, this was very noticeable quite early on, especially as I introduced exercise.
-
My wedding rings got loose and I had to take them off, it hadn’t occurred to me I was carrying the weight in my fingers. One of the things I’m looking forward to is getting them resized when I’m down to goal weight.
-
Sex feels different, and definitely less tiring.
Anyone else noticed anything losing weight that they hadn’t expected?
