Just getting started. Need tips on losing weight after 40 for women, and a good free app.

I went to the dr yesterday and was shocked that I’ve put on another ten pounds in the last few months. I’m looking for a FREE app I can use to track weight, goals, work outs and also use as a food diary. Is it more effective to set short goals- “I want to lose 5 pounds” until I meet that goal and then set a new goal to lose 5 pounds than to say “I want to lose 30 pounds.”? I’m 40 and I’m not sure if it’s due to that bc I feel like I have been eating less lately so that’s why I was so surprised to have gained. I haven’t done cardio lately but I’m going to start that again next week. I’m 5’5 and weigh 162 pounds and my goal weight is in the 130’s. I want to lose 5 pounds by the end of the year if that’s doable.
