Hi everyone! Wanted some help figuring out how to stay full after dinner so that I don't give in to high calorie density cravings. I'm a 21F uni student, 290lbs 5'6, that is usually on campus from 8 am to 5 pm and have a healthy breakfast and lunch. I'm usually not craving much food when I'm there because I'm focused on studying and stuff. Once I'm home I will usually eat dinner around 6pm which fills me up. My issue is that not even an hour after dinner I'm thinking about going to the kitchen to get a snack cause I'm not all the way full. I can't seem to stop thinking about it the second I stop doom scrolling on my phone. Seems like if I'm not distracted and have food readily available I can't switch that thought off. And it's weird cause I literally am not hungry at all but I'm not full enough where I feel borderline sick so I can't seem to stand this feeling at night when my will power is at the lowest. I think I might start shifting my meals to be latter so that I don't have much time to get that feeling before sleeping. Do you think I should focus on timing my meals or should I eat more satiating foods(protein, potatoes etc.) for dinner to help? My fear is that if I eat a snack after dinner it snowballs into a full meal made of snacks rather than stopping at 1 thing. I don't know how to tackle this because I feel like if I figure this part out it will be way more sustainable for me than just depending on me resisting the urge at night. Any help would be appreciated!
