I struggled with weight for the better part of my young adulthood. Pcos had my blood sugar high and gave me insulin resistance and my endocrinologyst told me I have to lose at least 10% of my current weight so I could have regular periods and stabilise my insulin, or i'd be in a high risk of diabetes. I have asked her for a nutrition specialist recommendation and she told me about the doctor I work with.
Being an endocrinologist himself, having a double specialisation gave me confidence. Also the way he handled me as a patient. He gave me advice, helped me with a diet and lo and behold, one month later I am 5 kilos down, 5 cm smaller in waist, got from first stage of obesity to overweight and have an overall better quality of my muscle mass.
I have started hitting the gym with a friend that happens to be a trained kinetotherapyst so partly it is his merit, too
People, do not be ashamed to ask for advice and help from trained specialists. For me, it made a big difference compared to when I lost weight by dieting by myself(starving myself) and using the internet for at home fitness
