Quitting drinking was the best thing I could have done.

I was drinking 50 units a week of alcohol whilst following a weight loss plan at the start of this year and even though my diet was locked in at 1800kcal (from food) and I only had 7KG to lose, I (obviously) just couldn't lose the weight and I was in denial over the impact alcohol was having on my stagnation. From January to mid April I was drinking an extra 3600kcal a week and didn't even realise that the number was so high because I assumed that vodka was "low calorie". After some research and cutting out all drinking, I started losing 1kg a week of weight as I had planned the whole time and within 7 weeks arrived at my goal smoothly.

3.5 months wasted all because of my ignorance to the calorie content of alcohol. I'm not advocating anything except to make sure that none of you make the same mistake. I believed that the alcohol calories came from the flavorings rather than alcohol itself being caloric 🤦‍♂️.
