Hi, I'm 19M, and my measurements are as above in the title. For the past 2 years I've been doing a PPL reddit split, but EXTREMELY on/off (like 1 month on, 1 month off, you get the gist). I don't know if most of my noob gains are done. As per the electric scales, my bf is 15%, however as per an online army body fat calculator, my body fat is 24%, which i'm much more leaning towards. Most of the visible fat on my body is the visceral fat around my midsection and lower belly.
Some more measurements, my bicep circumference is around 14 inches (unflexed), so I don't believe I particularly have massive biceps/triceps (I have a long wingspan). However, I'm now ready to take my fitness extremely seriously as I'm tired of being "skinny fat". I've set my macros at 40% protein (1.1g/lb), 30% fat (0.3g/lb), 30% carbs (open to changing them), and thinking of switching to a PHUL program, with my off-day being pure cardio. My goal is to get around 12-15% bf in time for summer next year, but also have bigger arms, which leads me to believe that I should go for a recomp, however after hearing from multiple subreddits and google that it can take exponentially more time, I'm also considering a cut, therefore I'm undecided on what is the best way. I'm willing to go as aggressive as possible.
My question is, would I benefit more if I go into a cut-bulk-cut cycle, or undergo a full-body recomp? For either, what would be a recommended amount of weight loss I should be targeting per week? Any cardio routines I should target (couch-5k?) ?
For my PHUL program, I'm going towards more of an athlete-spec routine (as despite my current measurements I do play basketball and soccer in college, and so a bodybuilder routine, I believe, wont serve me as well).
My 1RMs are:
Bench 170lbs
Squat 230lbs
Overhead press 150lbs
Thank you guys for the help :).
