I just got back from the gym where I've nearly lifted my body weight - 70kg! (I weigh 71kg)
I started strength training almost exactly one year ago after more than 35 years of no consistent physical activity. My weight has hovered between 78 and 80kg the entire time which put me at an obese BMI but I knew my body composition was changing so I didn't let it stress me.
Then in January I endured two major injuries leaving me at the starting point in weights. That's when I decided instead of just sitting around waiting to heal, I could finally tackle my diet. I started calorie counting keeping it between 1600 and 1800 each day.
I'm now down to 71kg and the difference is AMAZING! I feel amazing, I feel capable, and I am so in love with being an athletic person. Me.......athletic!! It all seems unreal.
I have few people in my life to share this with and it's the first thing I've ever felt this proud of! It's been (and continues to be) an amazing journey!
