Age: 24 (M) Height 174cm Current weight 294lbs. Sedentary lifestyle
So I managed to calculate both my BMR and TDEE today after finding a solid average amongst different calculators.
BMR = 2312 Calories TDEE = 2774 Calories
As far as I’m aware I’m told it’s not a good idea to eat below my BMR as this can cause loss of muscle and a slowing of my metabolism and the best thing to do is to eat below my TDEE to steadily lose weight around 1-2 lbs a week
I’ve been tinkering with my diet for a while, this year I’ve managed to cut out my two biggest issues, artificial sugar drinks which amped up my cravings and sweets which I ate in excess for a long time as well as cutting down on lots of the carbs I used to eat (still working on some of that)
Today I’ve eaten two small spicy chicken sandwiches with a combined value of 904kcal as well as two small glasses of orange juice which together amount to 460 kcal bringing the total amount of food I’ve eaten today at 1364 kcal
Now I’m beyond full, i genuinely don’t think I can eat any more than this today without feeling sick. I might have a bottle of water or two later on after a walk around the park (30 +minutes)
My concern is that I’m really full without meeting my BMR and I know that unless I’m eating at maintenance I’m doing myself harm, if this becomes a trend then I’m going to bring whatever’s left of my metabolism to a grinding halt and my body is gonna start eating my muscles as well as my fat to sustain itself.
Can anyone advise?
