Since the middle of December of last year, I have been on a 1000+ calorie deficit(I weigh everything and track via myfitnesspal) consistently and have lost a total of about 10 lbs of my 50lb goal. Those 10lbs happened within the first month, and I have stagnated for the last month and a half. I strength train 3-4 times a week and have recently added low-intensity cardio after workouts.
I guess my main question is can my newly added muscle still be canceling out the fat loss number on the scale after over a month of 1k+ calorie deficit? I technically should have lost at least 12 more pounds with the 3500cal=1lb math. Like I know the energy has to be taken from somewhere, but at this point I am considering going to my doctor to get my hormones checked.
I started at M 5'5 198lbs and currently sit anywhere between 183-190 (most days I weigh in at 188). I weigh myself every day and there is no clear trend of weight loss over the last almost 2 months.
Am I still "recomping" in such a steep deficit?
