I have recently started my weight loss journey (female 160 cms 67 kgs). I had a question wrt to weight fluctuations. I have consistently been losing half a kg every 3-4 days with calorie deficit, and a couple of workout sessions per week. However, I was told to add in cheat days to keep up the momentum. I added in 1 cheat day where I eat at maintenance TDEE. The weight comes back with a vengenace when I do that. Is this normal? What is the point of making all the efforts over a week only to have then wiped out in a single day of normal eating (I weight my food, cook it myself, and track on MFP religiously).
Are these fluctuations normal? i know my period caused one which I ignored and there was an expected whoosh. I was very sedentary before this and now I do cardio for 30 mins and strength training for 30 mins three times a week, could that be causing it?
I would be grateful to hear some similar experiences or advice as this is highly demotivating. Thank you!
