Periods are throwing me off track

I joined the gym with pt and it’s going well and then my period comes which making me become like a bear grumpy, looking for food and tired and just well delightful (poor husband having to deal With me like this ) . I just want to eat my body weight in chocolate and then sleep . I’ve cut down on my sugar and this what normally gets me through my periods as I’m really heavy and end up with low iron and faint and zero energy. I’m on iron injections and b12 How you deal with this and trying to eat like crazy.
