I've been invisible and remarkable throughout my life because of my weight.*
Things I love about being fat :
-
Being insulated from the male gaze. It's like being a celebrity wearing a disguise. You go from not being able to go anywhere without being gawked at and harassed and scared for your safety to all of a sudden cruising through life unnoticed, under the radar
-
I give better hugs
-
I am super buoyant when I swim ! I just bob around like a happy hippo, effortlessly floating thanks to my "bioprene" blubber suit
-
People aren't threatened by or scared to talk to me
Things I won't do until I'm fit :
-
I'm waiting to be at a good weight for surgery so I can handle the anesthesia well
-
Running ! (It hurts too much when I'm overweight)
This list feels small so I'm asking you all what your lists look like. Surely there has to be more ?
I want to be thin so badly, but I'm asking myself just what exactly the light looks like at the end of the weight loss tunnel.
Disclaimer : I am autistic and have severe sensory issues. Being fat means more skin, more skin means more surface area for things to touch, which means more sensory distress. This is my only reason to have thinness as a goal.
*I (32F) started my life as a beautiful girl child. First thing out of everyone's mouth upon meeting me was some sort of mild gasp with oh how pretty you are ! Spent my teen years awkward and then turned bombshell hot in college. Gained weight from medication right before graduating and spent 22-28 obese. Got hot again at 29 and now I'm working off some weight I gained from the end of a horrible marriage.
