I've been on a 1,500 daily calorie deficit for 8 weeks and managed to lose 11.5kg / 25lbs. On Monday I decided to change my daily calorie deficit from 1,500 to 1,250 and my weight loss has completely flatlined this week. I made this change because I no longer found the 1,500 deficit to be sustainable. I've gained 0.3kg this week despite eating clean and doing daily exercise. Can anyone shed some light on whats going on here?
The only thing I can think of is maybe my body is re-adjusting to the new calorie deficit? Im not sure how water retention would play into this either, as I havent been consuming an unusual amount of salt this week.
In terms of the extra 250 calories per day, I've added healthy calories. For example a small slice of organic protein bread, a healthy nut bar, maybe some 10g of butter in my cooking or a bit of extra cheese. It hasnt been any unhealthy or bad foods.
