Water retention query

Hi everyone, I (f27 257lbs) have been on my weight loss journey for about six weeks now and I’m averaging on losing 1-2lbs a week up until last week. The only change I made was to increase my daily water intake. Im still eating to keep in a calorie deficit and working out 4 times a weeks. I’m trying to drink at least 2 litres of water a day per the recommended amount. Does water retention last this long?
