Hi, just a little background on my journey so far. Today I (26F) weighed in at 25lbs down with 85lbs to go until my goal weight - very proud of my progress so far, though I can't yet see any visual changes. 18lbs of this weightloss has happened in May, even though I have only been targeting a 2lb per week weightloss with my 1500 per day calorie intake and only light intensity cycling and walking for exercise. I expect this rate to slow down soon.
I had not set any target dates for my weightloss milestones, only planned out non food related rewards for every 10lbs lost. I'm happy with a steady loss and anticipate that there will be plateaus and hiccups along the way.
However, an opportunity arose at work on Friday to sign up to go for a flight in a glider in 8 weeks time for only £25 - this is something I really wouldn't want to miss out on! The issue is that my current weight exceeds the maximum limit for the glider by 18lbs. I see this could be a great motivator as I have a solid goal to aim for that is challenging, but not unrealistic for me to achieve. However, I do worry that it is unadvisable to set deadlines for weightloss as I might be setting myself up to feel like a failure if I do not meet the goal. Just wondering what other people think about this.
