I don’t want anyone to think this is an excess skin hate post. I have to lose over 150lbs and know I will definitely have some level of extra skin. I’ve made some kind of peace with it. But, is losing this weight slower really going to prevent the worst of it?
I’ve set myself up to lose my weight over two years. I’m calorically set to lose two pounds per week, but at a somewhat physically active level. I’m not always so physically active, so I’m mostly in the range to lose about a pound or one and a half pounds per week. This week I saved two to three hundred calories everyday to accumulate about a thousand to spend on Chinese food on Christmas Day. It didn’t seem all that difficult, so I was thinking about going in a caloric deficit to DEFINITELY lose two pounds a week.
Logically, I know that super fast loss at my level of excess weight would result in excessive skin, but I’m curious how much the slow pace will actually save me from it.
