I’m at a loss and am seeing if anyone else has experienced this:
To keep this short, I track everything and i know how to effectively lose weight/diet. This is not the beginning of my cut, but closer to about two months in.
I hit a low of 157 and average weight for the week of 159. I needed a thoughtful refeed (not a cheat/binge), so I had a day slightly above maintenance that was high carb. The next day I was 163.4. I laughed off a 6.4 pound weight gain and moved on.
Why am I posting? Because over a week later I have averaged 162.5 and weighed in today at 162.4. I’ve never had weight stay on this long before and am utterly confused. My average is up consistently for over a week now 3.5 pounds.
I’ve read anecdotally my fat storage could be holding onto water and I may experience a “whoosh” soon, which is why I’m here. As many of you can imagine, this is incredible disheartening and frustrating. It’s one thing to plateau. But to gain 3.5 pounds and retain it over a week is really hard to see each morning.
Last tidbit is this odd soft pudge developed under my belly button this past week suddenly that was not there before. The sudden appearance of this seems to lend to the water retention, but the amount of time it’s remained is still odd to me.
Any thoughts or similar experiences are welcomed. Thanks!
