Week 5 Accountability Challenge

June 30, 2021 6’3 M:22 SW: 208 CW: 199.2 GW:180

It’s been a few weeks since I last updated but I’m doing well to stay on track. Since then, I have followed through on my goals of staying on track, logging my meals daily, and trying to take more accurate measurements. My weight loss progress has been slow but relatively steady. In 5 weeks I have dropped almost 9lbs which feels great. At the same time, my measurements haven’t changed in the last 2-3 weeks. I’m not the best at taking my measurements so there may be some inconsistencies as well, but I am hoping this means I may be replacing fat with some muscle? Understanding that it is pretty rare/difficult to do, I think I may be seeing some recomp affects since I likely have lost a lot of muscle over the last few years that I am now getting back to some degree. I’ve done some research and recomposition seems to occur more often in people who are new to weightlifting or in people who are coming back to it after a long break (and are regaining muscle that they lost). I have also begun trying to weigh out my food more often and get a more accurate measurement of exactly what I am eating to ensure I’m staying on track. I am still feeling a bit impatient and hoping for faster progress but I should keep in mind that 9lbs down in 5 weeks is a really good rate and any faster would not be beneficial long term. My goals for this week are to work out at least three days, log all of my meals, and try to get closer to my protein goals while staying in my caloric deficit.
