Hello all! I had a thought about my weight loss journey yesterday and thought I would share. A few years back, I gained 90 lbs in 9 months due to mental health issues (for which I had to be hospitalized), weight gaining drugs, and a physically and psychologically abusive relationship. I am doing much better now, but still haven't been able to shake the weight off. I turned to binge eating for comfort. I decided since the rest of my life is going well now, it is time to focus on my physical health. I am 10 lbs down, and have 90 to go, but it's a start. After how I gained the weight, I realized that my weight truly is a manifestation of the trauma I went through. Losing it feels like the final step of healing from that trauma.
