I (28F) am going to the Gym 4-5 days a week, eating less than 1200 calories and still the weight is just staying on... How do I get past this?
I am 5ft 4, and at my "normal" weight I was 140lbs give or take. I was curvy, I've always been genuinely curvy but I was also muscular.
I started gaining weight when I was in my early 20s after a series of panic attacks that were very Tony Soprano style, "I'm fine and then I faint". I became scared to leave the house in fear I would pass out out somewhere without help.
I got it under control then lost some weight.
Gained it all back plus some after my boyfriend died in 2021.
Now I'm 248lbs and I hate it. I don't even think I eat badly, I live on vegetables and soup. I can't drink sodas due to a health issue, so I almost always drink tea or water.
I've been going to the gym 4-5 days a week for 4 weeks and haven't lost a thing.
I am feeling so disappointed because I want to meet someone romantically, I'm nearly 30, and it's not going to happen if I stay my weight.
I do have a suspected thyroid issue (I had subclinical hypothyroidism on a blood test have to retest in 2-3 weeks) but surely I would lose something working as hard as I am?
I know you are thinking "it must be calorie related" but I've calculated everything- BMR, Calories in, calories out, macros ETC... I am VERY strict about recording EVERYTHING, what I eat, drink, snack on... Everything.
Where am I going wrong? How do I get this off? I'm so tired of being this way.
