How to reach caloric intake while eating whole foods?

My BMR is just under 2,000 calories. My TDEE, using the sedentary option, is 2,400 calories a day for maintenance. I could try to eat 3 meals of 800 calories each.

Typically my meals range from 540 to just over 600 calories. I don't know what healthy foods I could add to every meal to get them closer to 800 calories.

This would not be a problem for the old me. I could get over halfway there with a large Big Mac meal. A double portion of salmon, brussels sprouts, and roasted sweet potatoes is 636 calories. I'd have to eat a meal like nearly 4 times day to hit my TDEE and

What am I missing? This feels like a mind f***. At first it felt hard to eat less food when I was eating junk food. Now, I feel like it's hard to eat enough whole foods!
