Hello, recently I’ve started to try and change my diet and lifestyle upon finding out I was overweight. Until quite recently I used to binge eat, so counting calories have really helped my binging massively decrease. I’m also trying to eat meals more balanced in volume to avoid stretching out my stomach again. However, I found that when only considering calories, I subconsciously try to “save” calories during the day so I can eat a larger portion during dinner.
I know that fundamentally, you should be fine as long as you stick to the calorie count. But knowing me, if I don’t stop this habit entirely I‘ll probably end up spiralling back into binging until my stomach hurt. And I ideally don’t want to calorie count my entire life, so I’m trying to get used to smaller portions. Which sucks because when eating and binging, I chase the sense of being full (not to mention those foods I say I’ll “only eat a little of” that I end up consuming entirely).
So what I’m trying to ask is, is there a way to get rid of this base urge to stuff myself? How can this be done? Thank you!
