I have a BMI of 36 as a 17-year-old male

I turned 17 about two months ago, and have gained a significant amount of weight since I first started 8th grade a little after COVID-19 spread. I never went to the gym as much and only went when I was really forced to go by my friends. I wouldn't say I like exercise at all, but it's definitely needed. I just hate the gym, and I don't care about muscles. All I want to do is look less fat so I can stop being humiliated by all the others at school. I love to eat, and don't want to change it or I might become stressed or even depressed like I was in the past. I have stopped drinking sodas for awhile, but I still don't see any good results from doing it. Do any of you have tips for me to start now?
