I've been seeing a clinical dietician since August last year, and have been steadily losing weight.
I lost 10 kgs from that summer until New Year, and no one noticed. That's fine!
But I steadily kept on losing weight, and have now lost 17 kgs (37 lbs). ALL of a sudden, people are commenting on what they think is a very rapid weight loss.
"My gosh you lost a lot of weight recently huh? Are you on Ozempic?"
Stuff like that. They act like I lost 17 kgs within the last few months lol. They almost don't believe me when I tell them the bulk of the weight came off in 2022! But no one noticed back then, because it obviously takes a while for changes to be visible for others.
So because everyone seems to think I lost the weight rapidly, they automatically assume I'm on Ozempic/Wegovy. I've been asked by so many people, someone even did a mock injection into the thigh while asking "oh but you got help for it, didn't you?" while imitating injecting her thigh lmao.
She's a very sweet person and I'm not angry at anyone really for assuming, but I wanted to know if anyone else have had this happen too? Literally everyone who sees me says something like "wow you've lost a lot of weight, you must be on Ozempic?"
How do you respond in these situations?
