I’ve been working out consistently for almost a year. Went from 90kg last year to 70kg at the moment. Using hypertrophy, weightlifting and all while on a calorie deficit. Using my body fat to do body recomposition.
Well that was until i stepped on a scale a found out I’m 71.5 kg right now. When I last stepped on an a scale which was last month. I was 69kg.
I’m still on the same diet as a I was last year. Still on a calorie deficit. But I’ve managed to put on weight.
I think I know why but I want to confirm if the science behind it backs it up.
Because of my new job. I only get a maximum for 3-4 hours of sleep. And the past two weeks I’ve been getting 2 hours sleep.
After finishing my shift, which is 12 hours long. I go gym for about an hour. Get home. Have my final meal and toss and turn in bed for another two hours. Usually falling asleep around midnight. Then having to wake up around 3. Depends on how quick I wake up. But latest I wake up is 4.
Now I’m counting my calories. Especially my protein. They’re all on point. I still have my chest days. But I never go over my calorie maintenance for that day.
So I’m trying to understand how at the beginning of this month I went form 69kg to 71.5 while still working out daily and on a calorie deficit
