So I've been working out and dieting consistently a little over 3 weeks. I've been behind on schoolwork so that led me to stop tracking and exercising the normal 1.5 hrs a day. I did try eating junk food but it just didn't sit well with me so it was a mixture of a little bit of junk food and mostly high protien healthy foods the rest of the time. Though I doubt I met my normal protien goal during these 5 days ( 100+g of protien a day).
Here is my dilemma as soon as I missed one day of exercise I honestly felt like crap then symptoms thst I've had for a while before I started tracking and exercising started resurfacing. I've had chronic fatigue and chronic headaches/migraines with a brain fog like feeling.
When I was exercising/dieting I felt like my mind was clear, I only got a mild headache that lasted a couple hours for one day verses a migraine that would take me out for a day or two. The fatigue that I normally felt that would make me sleep for days on my days off or feeling like I got no sleep even though I slept 10 hrs was completely gone. I felt like I had so much energy.
Most of all I felt productive and like i had something to look forward to everyday, i felt like i was working towards a goal and it felt like i was accomplishing something everyday. The only reason I paused was because I was neglecting my schooling, but I am a horrible procrastinator anyways, so I wanted to get a good study habit going so I wouldn't fall behind... but yeah, I've been feeling like crap again.
Has anyone else been this dependent on exercising? I honestly think the protien helps as well but I never imagined it would affect me this much. I do have periods of depression so I suspect my dopamine levels are quite low so I am thinking that might have something to do with it. 🤔
